Overview

Gosainkunda Helambu Trek is a wonderful round walk through the stunning Helambu region, passing through the Langtang of Nepal. Our trail takes us through the narrow valley of Langtang, which lies in the north of Kathmandu and south of Tibet, full of Tibetans and Tamang settlements.

This Gosainkunda Helambu Trek takes us to a region full of diverse natural vegetation, unique lifestyles with amazing art and cultures, witnessing the glorious mountains like Annapurna, Langtang, and many more. We trail through the less crowded paths to reach our destination. This trek offers the best view throughout our journey up to the Helambu region. When we reach the Langtang Helambu region, we will be amazed by the beautiful and adventurous trekking route.

We pass through the beautiful alpine forest full of red and white rhododendrons coming across the antique villages and a wide range of animals such as red pandas, pika, Pontiac, musk deer, Himalayan Beers and Thars, Ghorals, Serow, Rhesus Monkey, and shared Langurs.

This Gosainkunda Helambu Trek takes us to the inaccessible and remarkable valley of Langtang. We visit various holy monasteries on our way to the destination. On reaching the Helambu, we get to see the spectacular view of the beautiful mountain ranges. The Helambu offers lush pine forests, slow-flowing rivers, and swift meadow streams with primulas.

Overall this Gosainkunda Helambu trek is a comparatively easy trek that offers less climbing with the warmer temperature at some elevation coming across the rugged mountains and snow-capped mountains enveloped in the mist with some tiny lakes with Icebergs coating on them and waters of crystalline brightness.

Just imagine this mesmerizing landscape that you will get to explore. We assure you that you will have a great time going on this Gosainkunda Helambu Trek. Book this short and wonderful trek with us now!!

Gosainkunda Helambu Trek Route

Gosainkunda Helambu Trek Itinerary begins with the drive to Syabrubesi, also the trek starting point. This is a small Tamang village located on the banks of the Bhote Koshi River. We reach Kyanjin Gompa and then climb Tsergo Ri the next day. From there, we get tremendous views of the Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,622ft) range. Next, we continue trekking in the beautiful Langtang Valley and reach Gosainkunda, a revered pilgrimage place for Buddhists and Hindus. Moreover, the place is named after the glistening Gosainkunda Lake, whose water is believed to have magical healing powers. We pass by a few more lakes on our trek and cross the Laurebina Pass. Our trek in the Helambu Valley begins after crossing the pass. Another highlight of our hike is to reach the top of Ama Yangri at 3,800m. The view of the Himalayas from the top of the hill is believed to rival that of Poon Hill. From here, Mt. Shishapangma and the Langtang ranges seem so close that we feel that we can almost touch them. We continue trekking in the Helambu region for a few more days and end our remarkable journey to the mountains with a drive to Kathmandu

Safe and sanitary treks of your dreams

Buddhi Rai led my wife and I (and 9 other U.S trekkers aged 40s to 80) on a trek on the Tibetan Plateau (Mustang) and a elephant-and-rhino safari by foot and canoe in Chitwan National Park in October 2025. We took two other treks led by Buddhi to Tsum Valley (2022) and rhododendron trails near Annapurna (2024). On all three treks, his team put safety first and met each trekker's daily needs, including healthy meals/water and helping hands (and/or rides) when needed. We were introduced to Buddhi by his friend/mentor Sydney Frymire from the Washington DC area and New York. Sydney described her Nepal trek experiences in her (Amazon) book, "How a Cup of Masala Tea Changed My Life." Buddhi and many of his guides and staff come from near Basa, his home village.

Trip of Lifetime. 2

“Buddhi has been our lead guide and organizer on three Nepal treks since 2017. He has impressed us as an outstanding leader with deep experience and an extremely professional and trustworthy organizer. On our trips, he handled the sometimes-complex challenges and unavoidable surprise situations brilliantly, always finding safe and sensible solutions. I would never choose a different guide for my next trek in Nepal. Ingrid & Hans Schulz” From USA.

Namaste to you Buddhi.
You were and will always be a source of inspiration to me!
Your way of walking “the path” … one step at a time was more than just “guide-man-ship”.
It has been a mantra for reinforcing my life every day.
I hope I return to Nepal as well. ❤️
My memories of the beautiful country and people are etched in my heart forever!
Next time a gentler trek! ;)…
I’m glad to hear your family doing well. Don’t forget to send those pictures from time to time! :)
Sending love to them and you! From USA.
